Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel extended his best wishes to all Nepali citizens on the occasion of the Indrajatra festival, emphasizing its role in preserving Nepal's culture and ancient civilization.
In his message, the President underscored the festival's significance in honoring Indra, the God of rain and good harvest, and the worship of the living Goddess Kumari. The festival also features the chariot processions of Lord Ganesh and Bhairav, symbolizing a deep connection between humans and nature.
Celebrated mainly in Kathmandu Valley and adjoining districts like Kavrepalanchowk and Dolakha, Indrajatra promotes unity and harmony among diverse cultures, languages, and regions, according to President Paudel.
He expressed hope that the festival would inspire efforts toward social justice, economic prosperity, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
